  After a Midnight Drive over Saddle Rd. from Kona, we arrived at about 1:30am. At first glance, we wondered what we had rented. The security gates and the elevator seemed old and in need of updating.
  Upon opening the door to our unit, we discovered a well appointed kitchen, very clean unit and a very comfortable bed and living room area.
  HOWEVER, upon awakening the next morning, we were greeted by the AMAZING VIEW out the back of the building, overlooking a great Lagoon and a "Wilderness Park" that lead to two additional "secret" lagoons. Since we brought our snorkeling gear, we immediately set to enjoying the "backyard". Of all the places we drove to to snorkel, our best snorkeling on both Hawai'i and Kaua'i was right in our own backyard.
  We swam with MANY green sea turtles, saw abundant fish species, and the cool fresh water coming off the mountain streams made for a very clear, not too salty, swimming experience.
  The location, close to center of Hilo, was a perfect place to explore the island and we liked its more "authentic feel" than what we encountered on the more "touristy" Kona side of Hawai'i.
  And, the price to rent per night was fantastic, since we were traveling on a tight budget. The kitchen had everything we needed if we decided to cook in, including a complete set of spices.
  We took walks through the wilderness park next to the lagoon to find the other secret lagoons. They were deserted and had no one swimming in them. As we walked through the jungle, we also picked up gorgeous avocados from the ground, dropping off the trees and ate them with our salsa and chips! Delicious!
  First impressions are not always right; you cannot judge a book by it's cover. I would recommend this place for folks who want a great clean place, close to Hilo, who want a great waterfront view from their unit without paying a huge premium. We had a great stay and would recommend it to others!

  You can't beat the location, with the postcard views of the lagoons at Carlsmith Beach Park, which is right next door. The unit is clean, with a great floor plan and new appliances. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

  This is a great condo in a perfect location. The park next door is a great place to snorkel and enjoy the water.
  This is a quiet location with quiet neighbors. The pool is clean and private. The condo is modern and has everything you need during your stay. This was our second visit to this condo and we will be back! Mahalo!

  Gorgeous coastal tropical rainforest paradise (and without the abundance of insects that are typical of a tropical rainforest) but a few caveats to note: neighbor (apparently down one level) smokes frequently and the second hand smoke is very noticeable in the condo unit when windows or balcony door are open and when enjoying the balcony. Also, balcony door lock doesn't work and screen runs off the track, a couple plates have minor chips, etc. Now for the good stuff - the view is incredibly gorgeous and you'll even see mongoose and red birds and yellow-green birds and sea turtles and more, plus fabulous soothing frog chorus after dark, with tropical fruit and nut and other trees all around. The room is loaded with all types of dishware, even sushi plates, tiki mugs, and all kitchen appliances, even a fresh sponge and dish soap, seasonings, lots of sheets and towels and extra pillows. We found the king bed very comfortable and much nicer than the more typical places which only have a queen bed. The ceiling fans and lights have a remote control and the fans are very quiet and effective. The location is quiet although next to a public park, and you can just walk out of the building into the park to dip into the water and see fish, eel, turtles, and more in a protected cove where the sea comes in but the battering surf is blocked. To stock your refrigerator, we really like the KTA on Rt 11, around a mile past the airport. Also, you'll run into the very friendly building manager who is visible all over the grounds and can help explain about the flora and fauna as well as local stores and places. Overall we had a fantastic time and highly recommend the place, just wish the neighbors would not smoke.

  I was very pleased with this property as had to lease it on very short notice - same day, in fact. The property manager was very helpful and accommodating, in fact went out of her way to accommodate us. I found it to be central, clean and Chic. I loved the long distance to Canada (free). It made it a lot easier to stay in touch with home. I would love to return.

  Our stay at the vacation rental from Aloha Coast Realty was fabulous. The accommodations were clean and except for the drapes in both rooms which could use some sprucing up and a missing tall mirror, everything was wonderful. The Realty personnel were very attentive and took the time and expense to honor my husband and I with a 50th Wedding Anniversary Basket and Balloon (which I might add is home with us and in a place helping us remember our special time. Thank You so very much for a memorable visit to the Big Isand of Hawaii.

  Stayed in this Apartment - 1 week during May, quiet, lovely views, close to sea, pool big advantage, easy to find, very convenient for Hilo, restaurants, good parking. The bed is so comfortable. Problems - no Kettle, Cooker rings two not working, and importantly for us telephone not working most of time we were in the apartment. Agents lent us mobile eventually but we had lost one and half days days waiting in for someone to sort it out. We would however use this or another apartment in the block again when we return in future

  We were a little nervous when we saw the exterior of the building; it seemed a bit run down. The condo suite however was great! The view was phenomenal and the location was very convenient for us. The only things that would improve the suite would be a full-length mirror (maybe on the back of the bedroom door?) and a chest of drawers or something to put clothing away. Sadly, we weren't able to use the lanai due to the incessant smell of cigarette smoke coming from below or beside the suite. There also seemed to be a couple of burns on the couch.
  
  Very well-appointed kitchen, lots of towels, comfy bedding. Bring earplugs to block out the coqui frogs and you'll have a great sleep! We would definitely consider staying here again. Thanks!

  We enjoyed our stay at MLS 405. The location was excellent, the view of the ocean was beautiful. The security is excellent with the keyed entry to the elevators. The kitchen was well equiped. The only concern I had was the overall cleanliness - the bedroom smelled musty and the linens were not fresh. Despite this concern, we would recommend this unit to others.

  Hello, First I would like to say that the location is great, quiet, by the shore and a great view. We enjoyed having the TV, computer hook up and a landline telephone. On the other hand we found the sofa uncomfortable watching TV and the lights are too dim for reading. In fact I purchased a power saver fluorescent bulb for that purpose. The screen door to the balcony is useless and a real pain to manipulate, We did not use the balcony as much because of the trouble. If these problems were fixed everyone would further enjoy their stay. Maurice Francen

  the building is nice and quiet. the unit is nice, but very stuffy having been sealed up for an undetermined amount of time. it would have been nice for them to open the windows the morning we arrived. the mgt is very responsive. their is not enough storage space, but it was a very nice stay

  We did have problems with the internet, management worked on it. Didnt get fixed till day before we left. There was no light on patio. Would have been nicer if there were more beaches. Next time we will go back to Maui.
