This unique home in the private, gated community of Kapoho Beach Lots offers guests quality, style, comfort, and ocean views, always with the attention to detail of a luxury property. Four bedrooms and five baths on three stories with a mix of stylized retro, contemporary, posh and eclectic Hawaiiana motif.

From the moment you walk through the front door onto the Travertine and marble floors until you have covered all 3400 square feet of living area and expansive covered lanais that overlook the blue Pacific Ocean, you will find pure quality in design and detail. Each bedroom tastefully decorated with beautiful linens and Hawaiiana, each bath exquisitively tiled in different colors, the spacious kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, an amazing infinity pool with views and even a viewing window into the pool -- you won't find another property like this in East Hawaii.

    This home with beautiful infinity pool made for a lovely 10 day vacation with 3 generations of family. Sleeping arrangements were excellent, providing comfort and privacy for 3 couples and 2 children. The kitchen was so well equipped that food prep and service were a breeze.
    Access to beautiful snorkeling in champagne pond and the tidepools plus the amenities of Lava Rock Villa provided us with all we needed for relaxation and entertainment but we also made the most of area tourist attractions, shopping, dining and Volcano National Park.
    A great change from the usual but worth repeating.
    Only drawback-unexpected nearness of neighbors with bright night time lights.
    Felt sorry that owner not able to enjoy a home with such obviously personal architechtural and artistic touches.

    What a great house! We arrived at night after a long drive from Kona. Thank goodness you had left the lights on for us! We were so tired and went straight to bed - then woke up to an incredible view (and a rainbow as a bonus)! The house was very comfortable, the kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed (and more). The location can't be beat with walking access to Champagne Pond and driving to the nearby tide pools - great and easy snorkeling! I only wish we had had more time to spend at Lava Rock Villa.

    It was definitely a unique experience staying at Lava Rock Villa. Everything was perfectly organized. We got very detailed and clear welcome letter with check-in procedure and directions to villa.
    The location was great and just a short work from the volcano heated tide pool. Great snorkeling there!

    Gave 4 stars for maintenance because the jakuzzi was cold, but it might be us not seeing some additional switch. Other than that all great!

    We are VRBOers across the nation. The Lava Rock Villa is the best yet. In addition to being a perfect location with access to several beaches and snorkel sites, the property was perfect. Maintaninence is always our biggest issue in most VRBO's. Not here. Everything worked as it was supposed to and left us to do nothing but enjoy. The other enjoyable surprise was the equipment. Not only was the Kitchen the best equipped ever, the available pool toys, snorkel and swim gear, and all towels, and consumables were in excess. A great stay. An easy recommendation.

    House is at a very nice spot with good view of the ocean and great accessibility to the Champagne Ponds. Accomodations were great except for a few broken items (towel bar and a bedroom fan). The fan was replaced. Water pressure was a bit low. The only real inconvenieince was that we had 2 cars, and when we split-up for the day to do things, it was a hassle to get the car that did not have the gate pass in. Luckily there were some friendly neighbors...

    First of all we are from Garden Valley, CA not Grass Valley. I left a very detailed account on paper on the dining room table along with a gratuity for the housekeeper. I loved the house. It is perfect for a large family. I'm disappointed that the hot tub never reached a suitable heat for relaxing. I also shared a very SERIOUS leak from the third floor shower drain that made it's way to the bottom floor bathroom where it dripped into and onto towels placed on the toilet seat lid We finally left the lid up so as not to have to keep wringing out towels. Unfortunately, when putting vegetables away in the crisper in the refrig the guide tab gave way and we just left the drawer out for repair. We are not quite sure what happened on the last night there (Friday) we had planned a wonderful hawaiian style farewell with flower leis, mumus, and as we sat down to our feast we were caught in a swarm of nats invading all food products, leis, hair, and a general disappearing of family members fleeing to every part of the house to finish eating. My son and I went outside and sat at the wooden table to try to figure out how/what had happened to cause this swarm. The only thing I am able to come up with is it rained about an hour before dinner and he had been grilling and when he opened the screen doors to bring the food inside, the bugs followed him in. I surmised a nest had been opened up from the downpour and they simply followed the smell of the food. We've been coming to Kapaho for seven years now and this has never happened before. I took windex to the kitchen windows and 409 to the sills and walls. It was awful. However, the housekeeper didn't have to deal with that cleanup. Everyone eventually returned to the living room to enjoy our final evening together. I would never let this envasion stop me from coming back. We did the lava cruise, the zip line, the Vanilla Experience and the Volcano National Park. So little time, so much more we could have done.

We strive to make repairs happen as quickly as possible and we have a 24 hour team to help us do that, but some things just take time.
