  This is the second time we have used Hawaii Holiday Vacation Rentals, this time, at the last minute when reservations were hard to get. As always, Tara was totally helpful and answered every question and found the best available for our needs. We loved the little studio. The yard was awesome, the facilities fine for the last minute and the kitchen had absolutely everything one needed. We were comparing it with Sunrise Cottage (not available) which is an incredible place, but still, Sea View was lovely.

  It was nice that it was not directly on the ocean, more quiet and private that way. The yard was really sweet and we really loved that it was so private.
  
  For us it was easy to find. However, if there was a way to make it a bit easier for others that would be good.
  
  We'll be back, and very much appreciate Tara working out a good rate for us, that was the clincher. We are local folks and every saved dollar means alot.

  We loved the four days here and would love to go back. The cottage was spotless, the furnishings comfortable, the kitchen well equipped. The water equipment and bikes were great and the setting was spectacular. Very relaxing and quiet and a wonderful place to swim. A few coqui croaks but not enought to cause a loss of sleep.

The kayaks and bikes were great although there should have been a 4th bike. The futons weren't that comfortable but what futons are? The neighbors around were very friendly,Loved it!!Will be back better yet, would love to retire there!

  The property & location itself is amazing. You really can't beat the private entrance to the ocean, or that little, tucked away corner that the property is on.
  
  There was also very little that was not provided for anybody who stays there in the way of kitchen supplies, masks & snorkles, and even a pair of kayaks! It was really a relaxing and easy place to syay, especially for a couple who had the place the themselves. The amount of sea turtles right out in that warm, geothermally-heated bay is incredible.
  
  The house itself is super-funky. We loved the outdoor shower, but the whole set up out there, and all the wiring throughout the house, was really bizaare for such a little place. I also worried for the longevity of the house with the obvious termite problem. But one could hardly be uptight about things like this in such a beautiful location. If it comes up for sale, contact me!

  It's a charming little house. The filtered view of the ocean was a happy surprise. Fresh flowers and limes (?)for us on the dining table. Very welcoming. Tara was vital in making the booking and arranging a car for us. So helpful and pleasant to interact with. Really - a delightful stay for two tired people.
  
  (A couple of operational notes: It would have been useful to have some more printed info in the house about the neighborhood/access paths, local maps, how to use the media center (For tech-slow-folks), permission/instructions for using bikes & other equipment. Also, we found the sequence of check-in instructions a bit confusing...may be us)

  The house was wonderful and very clean. The gated area felt very safe as well. There were a few bugs, but nothing out of the ordinary for the location.The sounds of the frogs and waves at night were so soothing. The bikes did have flat tires and need to be replaced but we were able to use them for an hour of so before the tires needed to be pumped again. Champagne Pond is only a few minutes away (walking) and has the clearest warmest water! The tide pools are also amazing. The house has every kitchen item and bathroom items you could ever want. Overall it was an amazing experience and I really hope to be able to come back again.

  We came in late that night and we could of used a map that we didn't have. We had a hard time finding the road to the house cause it had a sign to the left for the road but on the right was a truck for sale. We didn't realize that the little road right was the way.Once we found everthing it was a nice place. Hilo is nice but wet so we moved to different parts of the island. Swam in the ponds which were nice. If everything went as planned we wouldn't have any unplanned memories.

  This was our 2nd trip to the east side of the island & would never stay anywhere else. The house was perfect, even with updating needed in the kitchen. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Champagne Pond is a few houses down but the snorkeling at the end of the path about 100 feet away was just as good. Warm, lots of fish and a turtle. We had it to ourselves the entire stay. Even when the surf looked rough it was safe in the cove for the kids to swim. Watched the sunrise from bed every morning. Would go back in a heartbeat

  We all had great experiences while staying in this lovely home. It had everything we needed and the view was amazing! Every morning we were able to watch the sunrise through palm fronds. A few steps to the water and warm champagne ponds. perfect!Snorkeling was great here ,with turtles and even a seal.

  A little gem away from the crowds! Sleep to the Ocean (and frogs) at night. If you don't like wildlife sounds bring ear plugs. Snorkeling was good here and just down the road at Tidal Pools. We will come back as soon as we can :)

  Loved the cottage - great for two, but they had couches and futons to sleep more. Feet away from the ocean - could swim to a nearby hot spring "pool" where the snorkeling was great. Had a couple of bikes and kayaks. Could bike to other hot spring pools and snorkeling spots. Kitchen had all the implements you'd want down to a garlic crusher. Very comfortable place, wish we could have spent more than 2 nights.

  Easy ocean access and the kayaks provided were the main reason we selected this property, but there is so much more to appreciate. We love the remodel- new bedrooms are beautiful and the huge balcony with ocean view gets a cool sea breeze. Three baths now with bidets-amazing! Kudos to the owners for preserving the old-style Hawaiian hale atmosphere downstairs. Complete separation of upstairs and downstairs areas worked well for us. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare and serve any type of meal. Property managers were very patient and helpful. Kapoho is such a fantastic destination, and this property provides everything you need to fully enjoy it. We loved it so much we added more days!

  We stayed soon after the completion of the new addition to the house. While some of the guestbook comments written prior to the time the addition was built expressed concern about altering this old Hawaii hale, I think the owners did a great job. You definitely move between two worlds -- the new addition (2 bedrooms/2 baths/large upstairs lanai)is really luxurious, while the original part gives you the "oh, if these walls could only talk" feeling. We loved it so much that we stayed home more than we had planned to, especially since the snorkeling at the house is good and Champagne Pond is a short walk up the street. After snorkeling and sightseeing,I spent many, many hours sitting on the wonderful lanai watching the ocean, night sky, and full moon reflecting on the ocean -- of course, I took time out from these activities to nap on the futon on the lanai. The house wasn't just a place to stay -- it was actually a part of our vacation. We are already looking forward to our next stay... Mahalo.

  We were very happy with the Sea View Hale. We loved the whole remodeled upstairs and lived out on the lanai while we were at the house, loved the outdoor furniture. The location was awesome, the proximity to the bay and tidepools was great, I would recommend the property to a friend, I would come back for sure. We loved the amenities of the house, bikes, kayaks, dishes and kitchenette upstairs. One thing - we rented a movie seeing that was an option only to find there was no power cord to the dvd player

  This lovely spot is perfect for anyone who is seeking a feeling of "Old Hawaii." I was so impressed at how the owners seem to have thought of providing everything one would need to make their stay fun, relaxing and easy. From the comfortable, attractive furnishings, to the great lighting, great bed, fans, bikes, helmets, kayaks, snorkel gear, and a well-equipped kitchen, they seem to have thought of everything. I so enjoyed the screened-in feature that brought in the sounds and gorgeous view of the ocean. If you're seeking a peaceful, authentic, rustic experience of Hawaii in a friendly neighborhood, Sea View is a great choice. I wish I could have stayed longer, and I'll definitely return. Many thanks to K.C. who rushed over with batteries for the TV remote. It wasn't an emergency, but she treated it as such!

  We enjoyed our brief stay at the Sea View at Kapoho Beach. The cottage is in very good condition, well appointed with plenty of room for a family and all their stuff. As described, the cottage is one house away from the ocean, and there is access to the water's edge. There really is no beach to speak of, so if you are looking to walk your towel and picnic to a sandy beach for the day, you will want to look elsewhere. We were excited to have use of the property's two kayaks, but the reality is they are almost unusable. Access to the water is very steep and rocky and would require a great deal of effort (and risk) to launch a kayak by yourself. This was unfortunate as we looked forward to trying them out. The cottage is in a secure gated community and requires an electronic pass to get past the gates.
  
  Although there are some houses nearby, the cottage does have a very secluded feeling. It may be secluded, but it is seldom truly quiet. The air is filled with wonderful sounds from Hawaii's nocturnal creatures at night and with the birds by day. It rained very hard in the early mornings, waking us with the sound of floods of rain on the roof and trees. It is a wonderful experience, one that would not be the same at a large hotel or condo. Another enjoyable part of being away from civilization is that it is pitch black at night when the lights are turned off.
  
  It is a long drive from Kona to the Big Island's quiet side. The directions provided to get to the cottage are easy to follow and are critical as there is no way you could find it without them. However the distance is well worth the effort if you are looking to get away from the other tourists. Going out to the market or to dinner takes a bit of effort, there are some nice restaurants and shops within a 15 minute drive. You are about 30+ minutes from Hilo which has a lot more choices. The location is pretty convenient to tour the volcanos and all of the southeast part of the island.

  Fitted very well what we wanted to do. The extra amenities (Kayak, Snorkeling gear) were great ! Disappointed about the 2 bikes though (none have brakes working...). Overall, I would recommend it to everyone, 4-6 people can fit easily in this vacation house.

  We thought the studio was cute and well stocked. Two issues though: The Dish Network subscription had expired so we had no TV or music the whole time. It was a disapointment. Second is a board at the roofline in the front of the house is loose so when the wind blows it bangs and kept us awake.

  Except it was very comfortable at first, but was quite Temadori because it did not properly verify the check-in instructions!
  
  Lanai was the best view of the second floor to take a pleasant breakfast, especially the wind.
  
  And we are very pleased with ease of use and clean bedroom and bathroom.
  
  It was a little worried that it was hard when the phone connection of the query, with the help of the staff was passing by near.
  
  It was very good to stay here was the first BigIslando.
